The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security had recently decided to issue institutional and individual labour permits from all seven provinces from January 8 this year.Adhikari shared that their office would provide three kinds of services.

Firstly, labour permit would be reapproved (renewed) under individual labour permit, while new labour permit will be issued for those seeking employment abroad for the first time.

Based on the token, the office will provide services to service-seekers as per the details entered online.Officiating Chief Adhikari explained that around 75 per cent of labour permit tokens could be issued from the Department of Labour and Employment, while the Janakpur Office could issue 25 per cent of the tokens for labour permit in case of urgency in coordination with the Department. He assured that there would not be any glitch on their part since they were well-versed with the process of renewal of labour permit.

Adhikari, however, admitted that some managerial reforms were needed to render additional services more effectively.A version of this article appears in the print on January 9, 2023, of The Himalayan Times. .
