Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, has threatened legal action against Meta, the parent company of Instagram, just hours after the launch of their new app, Threads, which aims to compete with Musk’s platform. In a letter addressed to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and published by online news outlet Semaphor, Musk’s attorney accused the company of “unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.”The letter claimed that Meta had hired numerous former Twitter employees who had access to sensitive information.Elon Musk raises legal concerns about Twitter competitor Threads launched by Meta.

(Photo Internet reproduction)Threads represents the most significant challenge to Twitter thus far, as it aims to position itself as a viable alternative to the popular social networking platform. The rivalry between Musk and Zuckerberg has been further intensified by this move, with the billionaires even agreeing to meet for a potential confrontation. In his first tweet in over a decade, Mark Zuckerberg shared a meme on Threads resembling Spider-Man pointing at another Spider-Man, drawing attention to the similarities between Threads and Twitter.Threads was released in Apple and Android app stores in 100 countries, receiving over 30 million downloads within hours of its launch, as announced by Zuckerberg. The app has attracted notable figures such as Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Hugh Jackman, and media outlets like The Washington Post and The Economist.Zuckerberg acknowledged that there is still much work to be done to develop the app further, but expressed optimism about its potential, considering it the start of something special.
