BHOPAL: A woman was assaulted by husband, who poured boiling oil on her, driven by suspicions of infidelity in the Shivpuri area of Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.

The incident was reported from Dhuvani village.

This was followed by physical abuse and unlawful confinement.The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Suravaya police station, where a woman laborer fell victim to the assault by her husband and brother-in-law, said police.Beyond inflicting burns on her hands using scalding oil, the perpetrators subjected her to physical violence and wrongful captivity within their home.Narrating her ordeal, the 25-year-old victim, a resident of Dhuwani village, highlighted the problems she went through due to her husband's persistent inebriation.

Struggling to support her family, she resorted to labor work, a decision that led her husband to cast unwarranted doubts on her character.The incident took place on November 17 when the victim's husband and brother-in-law confronted her, pressuring her to cease her labor work.

When she voiced concerns about managing household expenses, her husband flew into a fit of rage.

He resorted to brutal violence, using a stick to assault her before cruelly pouring boiling oil on her hands, inflicting severe blisters and excruciating pain.Desperate for assistance, the woman contacted her parents, seeking help and disclosing the torment she had undergone.

Her mother came and admitted her to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Subsequently, a formal complaint was lodged at the Karaira police station.

A case has been registered.
