KATHMANDU, JANUARY 18Kathmandu-based Seven Summit Treks Pvt Ltd has provided financial assistance of Rs 101,000 to the family of Prema Rogu, a 19-year-old resident of Mahalaxmi Municipality-2 in Dhankuta district who is battling a rare bone marrow disease. Her medical care has been interrupted due to shortage of funds. SST's Director Chhang Dawa Sherpa and General Manager Thaneswar Guragai jointly handed over a cheque to Bishnu Kumar Rogu, Prema's father at Civil Hospital this afternoon.

"After reading the news in THT, SST decided to offer financial aid for Prema's treatment," Guragai said.Prema's father Bishnu thanked the SST family for their heartfelt support.

"Their support means a lot to our family as we are struggling hard to manage a hefty sum for Prema's treatment," he said.THT covered a news story about Prema's health condition on December 4.

Doctors said that the family needed to spend at least Rs 10 million to treat the patient.

Leukemia has now been spreading to the bone marrow rapidly, as per the doctors.

Microscopic examination indicated that hypercellular marrow showed predominant blast with high N:C ratio.SST has long been involved in social services as part of its corporate responsibility towards the community, Chhang Dawa said.

Chhang Dawa is the second person among Nepalese who successfully summited 14 mountains of the world that are above 8000 meters.

He is also the Youngest 14-peak climber in the world-conquering all 8000m peaks at the age of 30.

Mingma -Chhang Dawa also kept the world record of "World's First Two Brothers" successfully summiting 14 Mountains of the world that are above 8000-meter height.

Tashi Lakpa holds the Guinness world record for the youngest climber after scaling Mt Everest at the age of 20 without using supplementary oxygen.

Pasang Phurba, who climbed Everest in 2022, is instrumental in successfully managing SST expeditions every season. .
