NEW DELHI: Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for a purported shooting incident at Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal’s residence in Canada early Saturday.

The incident involved firing of “warning shots”.The alleged incident took place in the White Rock neighbourhood in Vancouver, Canada.

Bishnoi said this was a warning to Gippy to stop looking up to and praising Bollywood star Salman Khan.The post also threatened Khan.

News reports from Canada said, without mentioning Grewal, that the firing incident was being looked into by local law enforcement agencies.

No one was reported hurt.In a Facebook post, an account handled by the Bishnoi group said it was a message to Salman Khan and challenged Khan to rescue his brother Grewal.

“Your reaction on the demise of Sidhu Moose Wala did not escape our notice.

You closely associated with Vicky during his time in Middukhera, and subsequently, you even expressed great sorrow for Sidhu.

In September, gangster-turned-terrorist Sukhdul Singh alias Sukha Duneke — a close associate of the slain terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar — was bumped off by Bishnoi’s shooters.Duneke, who was from Punjab’s Moga, was shot at least nine times from point-blank range by his rivals in Winnipeg city.

While the Canadian police or media largely remained silent on the murder, Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the killing through a Facebook post made by his syndicate members.

Bishnoi has been giving death threats to Salman Khan, claiming that it was his ‘life goal’ as the actor had insulted his community by killing a blackbuck.
