KATHMANDU, JULY 5More than 60 climbers have scaled the world's ninth highest peak this season while a Polish climber died at Camp IV, expedition organizers said. Dawa Yangzum scales Nanga Parbat completing 10 of 14 peaks Nima Rinji becomes world's youngest to scale Nanga Parbat According to Mingma Sherpa, Chairman at Seven Summit treks, at least 29 climbers from SST successfully scaled Nanga Parbat, a killer mountain in Pakistan, this season.

"Under the leadership of SST Director Chhang Dawa Sherpa, we have managed to make a successful summit by 29 world climbers," Mingma said, adding that it was the highest number of summits by any outfitter in a single season.According to him, Norwegian climber Kristin Harila and Tenjen (Lama) Sherpa scaled Nanga Parbat on June 26 marking their 10th successful ascent of an 8000-meter peak this year.

"They will attempt to scale four other Karakoram peaks this season to complete all 14 in just three months," he said. From SST, 20 climbers scaled Nanga Parbat on June 26 while nine more made it to the top of mountain on July 2.

Among the summitters, French woman climber Sophie Lavaud completed all 14 peask by scaling Nanga Parbat this season, Sherpa said, adding that Trukish climber Tunc Findik also completed all fourteen 8,000ers.

Tunc, however, had climbed Manaslu's fore-summit.Kristin Harila, Tenjen Sherpa, Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, Nima Rinji Sherpa, Sophie Lavaud, Dawa Sange Sherpa, Dendi Sherpa, Pasang Tenji Sherpa, Alina Pekova, Sajid Ali Sadpara, Tunc Findik, Nima Dorje Sherpa, Viridiana Alvarez, Lakpa Temba Sherpa, Yousuf Ali , Imtiaz Ali Sadpara, Francois Amilano, Ulysse Francois, Ming Temba Sherpa, Lakpa Temba Sherpa, Josette Valloton, Phurbu Kusang Sherpa, Taraman Tamang, Flutura Ibrahimi, PhurbaThile Sherpa, He Jing, Sona Sherpa, Afsaneh Hesami and Anja Blacha from Seven Summit Treks scaled Nanga Parbat, Mingma said.Meanwhile, 16 climbers from Elite expedition and 10 climbers from Imagine Nepal Treks also scaled Nanga Parbat on July 2.

"From Imagine Nepal, Dawa Sherpa, Tamting Sherpa, Tracee Lee Metcalfe, Dawa Gyalje Sherpa, Sashko Kedev, Naoki Ishikawa, Ngima Nuru Sherpa, Naila Kiani and Ngim Dorjee Tamang scaled Nanga Parbat."From Elite Expedition, team leader Nirmal 'Nims' Purja scaled the mountain without using supplemental oxygen.

"Anna Gutu, Nikol Algerdos Kovalchu, Christine Vogondy, Tejan Gurung, Alasdair Scot Mckenzie, Mingma Tenzi Sherpa, Tenji Sherpa, Dawa Yangzum Sherpa, Mingmar Sherpa, Ramesh Gurung, Nima Sherpa, Pasang Tendi Sherpa, Phurba Sonam Sherpa, Dawa Temba Sherpa and Karma Geljen Sherpa from Elite Exped scale dNanga Parbat on July 2."According to reports, Paweł Kopeć from Poland died from Acute Mountain Sickness near Camp 4 while Pakistani climber Asif Bhatti suffered from snow blindness and got stranded above Camp 3. .
