Akayed Ullah indicted for NY subway blast

Akayed Ullah, 27, faces charges that include supporting a foreign terrorist organization, using a weapon of mass destruction and carrying out a terrorist attack against a mass transit system, according to an indictment filed in federal court in Manhattan. He faces life in prison if convicted.

Ullah was previously charged in a criminal complaint filed by prosecutors shortly after his arrest last month. His court-appointed lawyer, Amy Gallicchio, could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday.

According to prosecutors, Ullah attempted to detonate a pipe bomb secured to his body in a pedestrian tunnel in the subway station in Manhattan's Times Square that is connected to the sprawling Port Authority Bus Terminal on the morning of December 11.

Ullah was hospitalized for injuries suffered after the bomb ignited but failed to detonate as intended, while three other people suffered minor injuries, according to prosecutors.

Ullah told police officers after the blast that he "did it for the Islamic State," according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors said that Ullah, who has lived in the United States since 2011, began his self-radicalization in 2014 when he started viewing pro-Islamic State materials online. Inside Ullah's passport, which was recovered from his home, was a handwritten note that read, “O AMERICA, DIE IN YOUR RAGE,” according to the complaint.

Monirul Islam, head of the Bangladesh police’s counterterrorism unit, told Reuters shortly after the attack in December that his country had found no evidence linking Ullah to militants in his home country.

Bigg Boss: Priyank to be arrested?

Authors: Ecroaker. com Boosters.

The fights inside Bigg Boss 11 house are spilling over to the outside world this year - reports claim Arshi Khan’s publicist has filed cases against contestants Priyank Sharma and Gehna Vasisth.

A Tellychakkar report quoted Arshi’s publicist Flynn Remedios claiming that Priyank could be arrested soon and police have started the process to obtain an arrest warrant. Remedios had filed a criminal defamation case against Priyank in October. The police officials who are investigating the case have told me not to speak to the media in this regard, and I am sorry, I cannot share any more details,” it quoted the publicist as saying.

Remedios has also reportedly sued Gehana for Rs 1 crore and was quoted by the website as saying, “I have been reading statements and articles based on interviews given by Gehana Vasisth concerning the private life of my client Arshi Khan. I had kept quiet till now because when a show like Bigg Boss is on, everyone jumps onto the bandwagon. I wish to clarify that I used to handle Gehana Vasisth’s PR 3-4 years ago, but I am not handling her media activity now. Her PR is handled by one Suresh Shetty and I have nothing to do with the statements made by Gehana Vasisth. On behalf of Arshi Khan who is currently in the Bigg Boss house, I have issued instructions to our lawyers who are suing Gehana Vasisth for Rs 1 crore for making false, incorrect and highly defamatory statements against Arshi Khan.

Earlier, talking about his FIR against the Bigg Boss contestants, Remedios had said, “Filing FIR/ criminal complaint against Bigg Boss 11 contestants Priyank Sharma and Sapna Choudhary, Colors and Endemol today under various IPC provisions concerning the dignity of a woman in legally privileged and protected cases. Colors and Endemol are accused / guilty of permitting telecast of a legally privileged/protected and subjudice court matter including the right to prevent or avoid self-incrimination by accused or victim woman and using it for TRP and financial gains.

Arshi and her publicist were upset when Priyank, who returned to Bigg Boss 11 as a wild card entry after being kicked out for breaking rules, talked about an alleged Pune sex scandal involving her. Priyank asked Sapna Choudhary to use the phrase ‘Pune and Goa’ in front of Arshi in their next fight and when she did so, Arshi was left stunned. e approached Priyank to ask why he was revealing details about her personal life on the show and was later seen crying, “My parents will be so angry at me.

Movie reviews: Haseena Parkar

Authors: Ecroaker. com Boosters.

It's impossible to look at Haseena without bringing Bhai (Siddhanth Kapoor) into the picture. Lakhia has a real brother-sister duo to depict the bond but the material is so listless that there is little Kapoors can do here other than she crying out "Bhai" at his many misdemeanours and he calling up concerned to say "Beta". here.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia (coming off the 2013 debacle of Zanjeer) and scripted by Suresh Nair, Haseena Parkar is a dreary courtroom drama in which the protagonist is hauled before the law to defend herself against grave criminal charges. The story moves back and forth from the judge's chamber to piece together the life of the only lady don the Mumbai underworld has ever seen. here.

Shraddha Kapoor, who has mostly played romantic roles in love stories, deserves kudos for taking up this challenge, and the actress delivers a powerful performance as Haseena. As the young Haseena, Shraddha has it easier and moulds herself well into the orthodox muslim avatar, albeit contrary to her earlier roles. here.

Gangster falls for actress Nayantara

Authors: Ecroaker. com Boosters.

Tamil actress Nayantara may have no idea how she ended up helping the cops to nab a notorious gangster, but the news is going viral for the witty approach of Bihar cop, Madhubala Devi.

The case was that of a mobile phone which belonged to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Kumar Mahato that got stolen, India Today reported.

It was then reported to the cops, and senior police officer Madhubala Devi took up the case and investigated the matter.

After she traced the CDR (call data records) of the phone, she found that the dreaded gangster Mohammad Hasnain is still using the stolen phone.

So, to nab the thief, Devi posed as a girl interested in having a love affair with him. Initially, Hasnain did not respond to the messages, but he eventually did after a few days.

To make their fake love prosper, the officer started calling him at regular intervals and also sent the picture of Tamil actress Nayanthara when he asked for her picture.

He appeared mad with joy after seeing the photograph," Madhubala told Gulf News. In fact, he was so happy that he agreed to meet her.

He] agreed to meet me at a place in Darbhanga town. Finally, when he reached the designated place, we arrested him with the help of other policemen in civilian clothes," Madhubala added.

When officer Madhubala went to meet the criminal, she donned a burqa, and the gangster failed to recognise her. This made it easy for the lady cop to nab the thief.

According to the report, Mohammad Hasnain also later confessed his crime but claimed that he had bought the phone for Rs 4,500 from another thief. The information he gave, was soon put to use and the other criminal was also arrested by the police.

The police department of Bihar has also announced a reward for Madhubala Devi for her intelligent approach to nab the criminal.
