MUMBAI: NCP's Praful Patel, who had attended the meeting of opposition leaders in Patna along with Sharad Pawar, mocked the gathering.
Addressing the meeting of the Ajit Pawar group at the MET, Patel said about the meeting, "I felt like laughing.
Seven of the 17 parties had only one MP.
One of them had no MPs."He pointed out that several secular parties had in the past allied with the BJP, including those of leaders like Mehbooba Mufti, Farooq Abdullah, and M K Stalin.
He said the one party that had attacked the NCP the most was Shiv Sena and Balasaheb Thackeray, and if the party could go with the Sena, there was no reason it could not go with the BJP.Chhagan Bhujbal attacked the "coterie" surrounding Sharad Pawar, in a clear reference to the state president from the faction, Jayant Patil.
Bhujbal said, "The election for state NCP president was not being held.
We had been told it was time to turn the bhakri, but the main rotla was just sitting there." He said the coterie surrounding their "God, Vitthal (Sharad Pawar)" should be removed.
