The secret ingredients that could make a Pixel Watch matter

If we're going to talk about a Pixel Watch, we need to get one thing straight right out of the gate: All signs suggest there is no Pixel Watch — not yet, anyway. As of this moment, there's no reason to believe Google has any such product prepared to launch at its Oct. 15 hardware event. In fact, recent reports say a Pixel Watch isn't on the agenda at all for this year — period.

But hang on: That isn't the end of the story. It's actually just the beginning.

Those same reports, y'see, also tell us a Pixel Watch was ready to be released three years ago, at Google's first-ever Pixel-branded hardware hoedown in 2016. The company apparently had two LG-manufactured watches on its hands but decided to scrap 'em at the last minute, as they were deemed to be too underwhelming to bear the Pixel name.

13+ iOS 13/iPadOS features you might not know about

I&ve continued my quest to identify some of the small improvements, enhancements and new features in Applelatest mobile operating systems. These are changes you should know about, but may not yet heard of.

Load the mobile version of a site

Safari on iPadOS loads the full desktop version of websites you visit by default & but this is sometimes a problem if you want to load the mobile version to access something (particularly multimedia content).

Here is how to load the mobile version of a site:

  • Tap the A/a icon in the search bar
  • Choose Request Mobile Website from the options that appear.

Automatic close

Are you someone who ends up with dozens of still-open websites in Safari tabs on your iDevice? Open Settings>Safari and scroll down to the Tabs section where you should select Close Tabs. You can choose to close tabs manually, or automatically after a day, week or month.

It's time to squirrel away a clean copy of Win10 version 1903

With the release of Windows 10 version 1909 imminent, you should take a moment now and squirrel away a clean copy of version 1903. Since we don&t know exactly how version 1909 will hit the fan, and whether it&ll introduce any bugs, itwell worth your time and effort to stash away a free, Microsoft-certified-clean copy.

Iteasy. Even your Sainted Aunt Martha can do it.

1. Make sure you aren&t running Win10 version 1903

If thereno Search box to the right of the Start button, you&re running Windows 7, 8.1, or some other older version of Windows (unless you intentionally moved the Search box!). Go to Step 3 below.

Throwback Thursday: I&ll show you rude

This company has a strict rule that forwarding a chain email could get you written up or even fired, depending on its content, says a pilot fish working there.

When one user decides to forward a message she thinks is cute to every email account in the company, fish gets the task of calling to remind her of the policy.

It doesn&t go well. As soon as user answers her phone, she snaps &What?& Fish patiently explains why hecalling, refers her to the employee handbook section on proper email use and — quoting from the handbook — tells her that future violations could result in her email privileges being revoked, or even her termination.
